Consider using information you need about Abraham Maslow, and about his Hierarchy of needs. Consider the needs below.
Where would they fit into his hierarchy and why?
Food - physiological; food is something one needs in order to survive.
Water - physiological; water is something one needs in order to survive.
Air - physiological; air is something one needs in order to survive.
Sunlight - physiological; sunlight is something you need in order to survive.
Car - esteem; cars help one’s personal esteem to get higher.
Self Respect - esteem; self actualization; self respect is related to both esteem and self actualization because it helps one to get more confident.
Support - safety; support is something that will help one to be safe.
Friendship - love/belonging; friendship is an emotional behavior.
Procreation - physiological; love/belonging; procreation is physiological and love because it is an emotional behavior.
Shelter - safety; shelter helps one to be safe.
Money - esteem; money helps to higher one’s self esteem.
Heat - physiological; heat is something needed in order to survive.
Love - love/belonging; love is an emotional behavior.
Acceptance - esteem; self actualization; getting accepted will help one’s self esteem to get higher.
Realizing Potential - self actualization
Can any one of those fit in more than one area? If so, where else could they fit and why?
Self respect, procreation, and acceptance all fit in more than one area. All three fit if both esteem and self actualization.
Generate three other needs that you believe are important. Those needs must fit in two or more categories of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. (Note: Your responses to the above should be short and concise. Make reference to an example to support your reason for placing the need where you did.)
Respect can fit in both esteem and self actualization because it helps to higher one’s self esteem and self actualization. Family can fit in both love/belonging and esteem. Finally, achievement can fit in self actualization and esteem.
Your response to this is to go on your wikipage. How should you present it? Some sort of diagram would be my answer. Good luck.
What seems to be the major motivating factor(s) for people that are affected by an eating disorder?
The major motivating factor for people that have an eating disorder seems to be all of the skinny people that are shown on television as well as on magazines and other types of media. When people see photos or shows of skinny and thin models, they tend to feel that they are not fit and they have all the ability to become like the models. As a result, they begin to stop eating and starve themselves and they begin to develop anorexia. Even when the person becomes thin, he or she still feels that he or she is not skinny enough and starves more, which eventually leads to diseases and disorders in the body. Although the body has already developed disorders, the people still see skinny models which motivates them to stop eating.

Are we, as some might say, motivated by a desire to save our off-spring?
I believe that we are motivated by a desire to save our off-spring because saving not only my but another’s offspring is related to survival and evolution. The facts of evolution would lead to a gene-protecting nature, which includes protecting our children.
Must there always be some sort of intrinsic reward for doing good?
I think that there is an intrinsic reward for doing good because when one does something good, he or she tends to feel good and proud about themselves, which kind of acts as an intrinsic reward.
Mr. Otis once said, "That having integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching." If this is so, and no one knows when we have done good, would you still do good?
I would still do good even if no one knew about it if the good was something that I really liked. However, if the act was something that I was not interested in and it wouldn’t affect me in any way, then I would not do the good act.
"Delayed reciprocal altruism", seems like a gamble - back to game theory, any way. Does this seem to make sense to you. That is that we act out of a desire to have what we have done being done to us?
I think this statement is true because people tend to treat other people based on the way they are treated. So if someone is nice to another, then the other person will be nice also.
Are we ever being truly "selfless" when committing an act of altruism?
I don’t think we are ever truly selfless because people do good because they expect a reward of some sort and they tend to think for themselves and what is good for them before considering others.
What might be the social/political implications for there being a gay gene?
The political implication for there being a gay gene is that the people will become more open-minded and will try to accept equality for the homosexual people. Furthermore, many people might start to feel that being homosexual is not so much of an abnormal feeling and could get rid of the prejudice they have against gay people. However, there might be a problem if there was a gay gene because the people might try to find a way to cure this and change his or her homosexual gay gene to a normal gene.
